True Love Never Dies

Back in stock! Type ‘Ahoe-Ahoea’ into google and it just thinks you’re an illiterate trying to write “shoes shoes”.  Proof, if it were needed, that this supremely drug/art-damaged thug-punk unit have never been a household name. That’s what you get for being Dutch and uncompromising circa 1983 (I say uncompromising, but they actually sing in - perfect - English, with lyrics and delivery that split the difference twixt Fall/Subway Sect-ish drollery and wild unguarded yowls of peace-punk despair - HYARRRRRRGHHHH). This, their one and only album, was self-released in '83, and latterly rescued from near-certain perma-oblivion by Bunkerpop (who brought us that Coitus Inc. revive). The production is PERFECT in its ragged simplicity, with drums and scything death-chug riffage high in the "mix", the songwriting remarkable but the performances unhinged and the whole band sounding like it's gonna fall of the cliff, then falling off the cliff, and carrying the fuck on anyway. Imagine Adrian Borland, the Spies and Afflicted Man locked in the dunnies and forced to find common ground from under a layer of caked Messthetics/KBD grot, and you're startin to get into the orbit of this mad dog UFO. True love never dies, it just turns to shit...
