Micro solutions to mega problems! Dewy minimal electronics and shuffling, sleep-deprived laptop tone-poems with intricate detailing and more than a whiff of Studio Pankow, To Rococo Rot, Mapstation...music for European airports, back when they were still open. At first its slippery almost-grooves feel too coy, too diffuse, but its this very restraint that gives the record its staying power. Yeah it takes a canny sort to make music like this.
Another strong Total Stasis following on from the Laila Sakini thing, as 2020 continues to feel like the year that contemporary music will do everything in its power to sound like the good bits of my CD collection circa 2001... result!
