Snarling tekno-relik from ye olde Dutch oven - “T-Warp” was originally released as part of Blue Attack 3 on the short lived, shared imprint of Spiral Tribe and Unit Moebius around 1995 - right in the eye of the storm as they captained their ferocious, abstract club music out of the Hague and into the ill-prepared lugs of greater Europe.
Alongside Jan, Curley and a small horde of loose-canons / sound systems, this bomb-squad churned out a unique strain of immersive, cathartic, TUNNELLING blacK-hole techno, far too depraved and twisted to slot in with the seemingly eternal doofdoof of the straight-laced icemen. The overdriven signals and dislocated rhythms of what was evolving into “free-tekno” being subjected to real-time manipulation, converting their often primitive electronic devices in to powerful tools for self-expression. Live freak-outs to traumatise any techno-sterility for all those who signed up for the raging, psychedelic nose-dive to nowhere.
This particular torpedo’s swarming atmospherics sound like a studio-gargling of the whole play-dough faced crowd at some Acid Planet crud-bucket, swirled and yakked into fissures of eye-drying, pressure cooked drum programming.Thumping away with their inimitable, mutant sense of GROOVE, the hissing, motorik high-end turbulence gives the sense of being circled by a malfunctioning attack helicopter - the chaos all slammed together with muscle-tearing urgency and bundled into a crude composition that makes this monster feel very much ALIVE.
