IDDB continue to disch 'em out - two deftly judged, cinematic cuts from CRAZY DOBERMAN. This rabid pack go straight for the jugular on side A - a snarling saxophone that can only be tamed by the unsettling ebb of a tough, rasping MS-20 (maybe?!) synthesiser - both bounding towards you, dragging with them deep, shuddering drums that feel so much BIGGER than the frosty Michigan rehearsal space in which they may or may not have been recorded, this crew sounding more like some kind of Temple of Doom session band, their cavernous, bellowing tones foretelling some imminent human suffering!
The flip coughs up more clattering mayhem, this round feeling a bit lighter on it’s feet - closer to a free jazz work out with some sharp, UFO-abduction tone-floats gliding all above - the whole thing feeling totally accomplished and ceasing to feel imitative of anything else, maybe, if anything, like what you would want all the gear on She YEYE to sound like - unique music indeed!
Some tuffffff contenders, but this is top spot on the mailer this week, do not miss!!
