Yoran's blurred, fragile, endlessly beguiling daydream/dérive of a record, Montparnasse - originally released on 7" in 1981, impossible to get hold of without paying silly money to silly people (what fucker would sell this???) - reissued by Camisole, and as a 12" no less.
Did the elusive Japanese musician/collagist responsible for this cryptic, telepathic vision of post-war Paris KNOW what they were summoning, or how transporting it would still be, 38 years on? A vaporous ambient tangle of voices spoken and sung, of chiming acoustic guitars and prim chamber strings, creased and crusted at the edges with noise and hiss and pungently evocative field recordings, it really does feel like the sound of two minds connected across space and time, thoughts and memories enmeshed...a kind of 80s DIY/industrial answer to The Double Life of Veronique?!
Edition of 500 - doubt you'll get another chance.
